A Peace Treaty: #77
Though we typically consider Winter to be prime scarf season, there's something to be said for the perfect summer scarf. Lightweight and gauzy, they are the perfect beach cover-up and help you transition from warm sunny days into slightly chillier nights without an outfit change. Why We Love It!
Unique prints and patterns make A Peace Treaty really stand out from the pack. Instead of the expected botanicals (flowers for Spring? How original), they sport on-trend geometric patterns. Chevron features heavily in their current collection, as do rectangles, triangles, and diamonds—and did we mention that the colors are to die for? From rich jewel tones to pastels, they have hues for every season.
A Peace Treaty is a truly global endeavor. Founders Farah Malik and Dana Arbib are dedicated to showcasing traditional crafting traditions from around the world. Every season, they travel to a different part of the globe to find local artisans and experts to collaborate on their textiles. This year, they have two lines: Natsu, which features techniques employed by artists in Japan, and Les Coeurs, which utilizes the work of Nepali weavers. By offering fair wages to craftspeople practicing ancient techniques, A Peace Treaty helps keep artistic customs alive, while supporting the local economy.
Our Pick
Playing favorites is hard when the options are this great, but we are obsessed with the Tsuru scarf in navy. Part of their Natsu line, the Tsuru scarf is printed all over with little origami figures that resemble paper cranes. It's delicate without being girly and smart enough to dress up a casual t-and-jeans combo. Not in the market for a scarf? They also have a lovely jewelry line that is at once both feminine and tough.
Price Check
Silk scarves cost $160 a pop and pieces from A Peace Treaty's jewelry line start at $100. Want your own? Check out the goods in their online shop.
