A Traveler’s Treasures
Stylist Nicole Gulotta is a consummate traveler. Her nomadic nature sent her off in search of magical places where she encountered inspiring people. While exploring the exotic cultures in Africa, India and Indonesia, Gulotta discovered beautiful textiles being made in artisan collectives and wanted to share them with her friends at home.
From this, Nomadic Thread Society was born. Gulotta has culled the best of the best in textiles from her many adventures. She sources everything with an eye to sustainability and fair trade.
On one journey, Nicole fell hard for the intricate textile designs woven by East Africans. She saw the African women using the textiles as clothes, carrying babies and providing shelter from the hot sun. Gulotta transformed these very textiles and created beautiful beach throws that can also be used as a bedspread or picnic blanket. There are so many color combos, making it impossible to buy just one!
Gulotta also had the brilliant idea to pair the colorful sarongs with 100% cotton terry cloth on the inside, producing a one of a kind beach towel. Part of the profits from these items go back to fund basics like food, rent and school fees for those in need throughout Kenya.
When you own a few of these Nomadic Thread Society goods you will feel like you have been whisked off to an exotic locale without ever leaving home.
