Swimsuit shopping: it can invoke fear and quaking in even the bravest of women.
Malia Mills is a company that truly believes everyone is beautiful. They are known for their swimsuits and have made it their mission to put feel-good fun back into shopping for a summer by the sea.
Run by two sisters from Hawaii who grew up feeling at home in the waves, the company began in 1992 with a plan to make swimsuits more physique-friendly and to empower women of all shapes and sizes. In the nearly two decades since, they’ve expanded their inspiring dream into a full-fledged collection with a focus on fit. Their selection of one-pieces, tankinis, and itty bitty bikinis come in a variety of playful patterns, sizes and styles, and are all uniquely and attentively sized a la bras and panties.
If it weren’t impressive enough that Malia Mills promotes positive body image, they also give back. Each month, they donate $50 to a charity chosen from suggestions submitted by their rocking, enthusiastic mm gals – otherwise known as their female fans who have come to embrace their bodies and confidently live by the Malia Mills mantra: “Love thy differences!™” Past charities of the month have included The New York Women’s Foundation, CARE, and Girls Inc. They give to organizations that celebrate women and children because, as we all know, the female gender is incredibly powerful when united as one.
Not only does Malia Mills encourage an all-inclusive attitude towards beauty, but they are huge advocates of supporting their community and local economy. Although much of their fabrics are sourced in Europe, all of their suits are made in America and sewn by women.
