Bring Your “A” Game to Play
Happy Chinese New Year! 2011 is the year of the Rabbit, and predicted to be a placid year, very much welcomed and needed after the ferocious year of the Tiger. This will also be a year full of good taste and refinement.
We have a way to ensure you have a year full of good taste and refinement....Meet Free Rice, an addicting online knowledge game. Start playing right away. Learn a few sophisticated and appropriate words to better articulate your opinions, then aggrandize and engage in erudite conversations. See how much math and science you really know, or find out if you can tell a Monet from a Van Gogh. Go online, play the game, have fun, and challenge your friends to beat your level. With every quiz challenge you get correct, a grain of rice will be donated to to the UN World Food Programme.
The more you play the game (and you will play more and more), the more rice will be donated.
This year all the rice you donate will go to help feed the people of Haiti.
The program aims to help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
Lets see... a game that will turn you into an eloquent conversationalist, help you improve your math skills, have you expounding on history and art like a true connoisseur, all the while impressing your friends and colleagues. Not to mention it’s pretty awesome to know that somewhere in the world, a person is eating rice that you helped provide.
Let the games begin!
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) distributes all of the rice you donate to help fight hunger. It is the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger and the world's largest humanitarian organization, working closely with many other organizations in over 75 countries. Over the years they have feed over 750,000 people whose lives were affected by cyclone Nargis. In Bangledesh they helped feed 27,000 refugees from Myanmar. In Nepal they fed 108,000 Bhutanese refugees and in Uganda 66,000 school children got food.
