Burning Love: Sadistic Mistress Hot Sauce
With America's birthday just one short day away, it's hard to keep focused on work. Visions of popsicles, fireworks, ice cream and barbecues dance in our heads, making even writing this sentence rather difficult. What we need is a Sadistic Mistress to keep us on task…
Of course, we're only partially kidding. Sadistic Mistress is actually a hot sauce brand made by Rikki Jamalia out of Lexington, Kentucky. For the past three years, Rikki has been selling her devilishly hot concoctions first at a Cajun restaurant in Lexington, and later online at Etsy. With names like The Garden of Good and Evil, Take It Like A Man, and The Safe Words, these sauces are bound to tickle more than just your tastebuds—especially if you have a risque sense of humor.
But Rikki's racy sauces do have a sweet side. She uses no artificial additives or ingredients whatsoever. And not only are the sauces at Sadistic Mistress vegan, they're also for the most part gluten, soy, and peanut free. They're safe to serve at your next barbecue, though you might want to warn guests about the considerable heat. Rikki uses habanero peppers in many of her blends, and her hottest sauce—the intimidating Psalms 22:1—even contains ghost pepper, which is reportedly the hottest pepper available for consumption. Hot damn!
Now aren't you just dying to fire up the grill?
How hot do you like your sauce?
