There was a time when only military personnel wore dog tags, (well other than dogs that is), but today they are worn for personal as well as practical reasons.
Polo Ralph Lauren, the brand synonymous with fashionable, has teamed up with the Michael J. Fox Foundation and created a very chic dog tag to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, degenerative neurological disorder that affects one in 100 people over the age of 60.
The tag is crafted from vintage nickel-plate brass and includes authentic font and stamping methods. The tags are stamped with “Be Inspired,” “Be Bold” and “Be Involved,” along with the MJFF logo.
This limited edition piece was made in honor of Parkinson’s Awareness Month and is now available for $95 at select Ralph Lauren and Rugby stores as well as online at Ralph Lauren and Rugby. 100% of the net proceeds go to the foundation and it’s mission to find a cure for Parkinson’s.
“The dog tag offers a simple, yet meaningful way to get involved and express solidarity with the millions of Parkinson’s patients and their loved ones worldwide,” said Tracy Pollan, actress, MJFF board member and wife of Michael J. Fox.
A simple tag, a simple message, simply irresistible.
The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson's disease through an aggressively funded research agenda and to ensuring the development of improved therapies for those living with Parkinson's today. The Foundation has funded $225 million in research to date.
