Martin Luther King had a dream. He stood up for what was right, and today we celebrate his great leadership and vision. ESPN interviewed many great athletes and coaches asking them how MLK affected their lives. The common theme is clear… freedom, choice, equality. Today is a day to honor Martin Luther King and live by the principles he stood for and died for.

I think when he came on the scene he made people believe all people are created equal. If you are not allowed to have the opportunities to advance in life, you are not treated fairly. MLK made people open their eyes. He made everyone understand that right is right, wrong is wrong.

He stood up for what was right even though it wasn’t a popular position at the time. He didn’t shy away from the dangers of speaking out. It is inspirational. We have no excuse not to stand up for what we believe in and living life to the fullest.
