Fighting Depression, One Song At A Time
Hope. Sometimes it's a matter of life and death. For 5 days, in the spring of 2006, a small group of friends comforted and supported a friend battling drug addiction who was denied entrance to rehab. Her story and theirs became the impetus for creating To Write Love On Her Arms, a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide.
The Facts:
Untreated depression is the number one cause of suicide, and suicide is the third leading cause of death among teenagers.
