Why We Love It!
Made by the company Kammok, Roos are hammocks designed for both hardcore outdoorsmen and weekend warriors alike. They are made of lightweight, tear-resistant and breathable LunarWave fabric, so you won't get sweaty—even if you are camping in the Amazon. To make things even simpler, Roos are incredibly easy to hang, thanks to the Python Straps and very easy to pack. Unrolled, a standard Roo measures 5'7" by 10', but you can compress all that fabric down to—to use their colorful terminology—a pouch "the size of an angry blowfish." And feel free to share your Roo: Each Roo can hold up to 500 lbs.
The Good News...
The woodsmen at Kammok have partnered with the do-gooders at Malaria No More to reach a great good: To end malaria deaths entirely by 2015. For every Roo hammock you purchase, Kammok donates a treated mosquito net to a family in Africa. Though secondary to their work fighting malaria, Kammok has also teamed up with 1% For The Planet, an organization that encourages companies to donate percentage of all profits. Kammok's one percent goes to Comfort the Children International in Kenya, which educates kids about the environment, economy, health and community.
