Hey, Watch It!

You’ve just spent the past three hours watching kittens and puppies cuddle on CuteRoulette.com, and though you’ve upped your awareness of … well, cute stuff, you’re not feeling especially informed, inspired, or engaged.  Katahdin Productions to the rescue!   

Brainchild of Lisa Thomas, cofounder and former CEO of Clif Bar, Katahdin Productions exists to tell compelling stories that are often ignored by the mainstream media.  The California-based nonprofit is behind engrossing films about of Native Americans during the past century, the complexities of foreign adoption, Dustbowl photographer Dorothea Lange, World War II-era poet and diarist Hannah Senesh, and (sing along!) the song "Hava Nagila", among other topics.   

Some of Katahdin’s films are already out on the festival circuit winning awards and accolades, but others are still in production.  You can help the thought-provoking 501(C)(3) move a specific project forward by designating a gift to your favorite in-process concept or give more generally to support the organization as a whole.  

Just one gentle word of warning: Though Katahdin Productions will get you pondering issues of social relevance and moving toward positive change, you may find yourself falling behind on cute videos of baby sloths.
