Jade Tribe: #74
As summer heats up, we find ourselves flitting from festival to festival. From street fairs to foodie bazaars to multistage concerts, this is the season for outdoor fun. But while picking out a comfy outfit is a breeze, it's not always easy to stand out in the wild fashions of a fest. Enter: JADEtribe, your new go-to shop for statement jewelry and breathtaking bags.
Why We Love It!
Lately, all we want to wear are floaty dresses and t-shirts, which sadly leaves little room for customization. But a single piece from JADETribe can turn even a plain white shirt into something special. JADETribe specializes in ethnic-inspired bags and feminine-but-tough jewelry. Every piece is colorful, bold, and packs a visual punch, which is exactly how designer Kimberly Hartman envisioned it. She describes the line as "a little bit beach-y, a little bit bohemian jet set, and 100 percent natural and ethical." Who wouldn't love that?
The idea behind JADETribe came to Kimberly when she was visiting Laos. She watched as local artisans wove gorgeous, intricately patterned textiles. In that moment, she decided to start a business, where she would buy directly from the craftspeople, pay them a fair wage, and bring their wares to the U.S. Thus, JADETribe was born.
Our Pick
Though we adore the jewelry, our heart is set on a handbag—the Nicole Tote, to be more specific. Made with organic cotton and all natural dyes, this funky bag comes in several eye-catching colors, from dusky blue to a vivid coral. At 15 inches by 15 inches, it's big enough to store all our essentials, including a water bottle for those sweltering days.
