Just Eats Tour
Talk about having a good idea right on time.
Gene Baur took to the road in a van, selling meatless hotdogs 25 years ago. The dogs must have tasted pretty good because with the proceeds he rang up, Gene was able to fulfill his dream of creating a safe home for abused and mistreated farm animals, aptly named Farm Sanctuary.
Today Farm Sanctuary is the nation’s largest farm animal protection organization. Just recently they rescued a chicken named Clementine, who was the victim of a cruel joke when she was left in a bar one night. Farm Sancutary is the voice for all the creatures that have none. To honor the Sanctuary’s 25 anniversary, Gene and friends are again taking to the road (hopefully with a new set of tires) to speak out for animals and explore vegan America.
Why don't you join Gene and “Come along for the ride” - sign up and receive the latest recipes, videos, photos, blog posts, and interviews. Tour the country on this vicarious van ride, share favorite recipes, and join the celebration. Submit your favorite vegan recipe and you could win a $250 gift certificate from Vegan Essentials.
No matter what you are having for dinner tonight, you have to love how passionate Gene is about helping animals.
Farm Sanctuary runs the largest rescue and refuge network for farm animals in North America. Their Farm Animal Adoption Network has placed needy animals in loving homes across the U.S., and they offer training programs and workshops to help people interested in starting shelters and caring for animals. Farm Sanctuary has been there to help with some of the largest farm animal rescue cases ever conducted in the U.S.
