Let’s All Eat Lots of Cookies!
Chunky Chocolate Chip, Lemon Sugar, Chewy Oatmeal Raisin, Chocolate Almond Coconut Crunch, White Chocolate and Macadamia Nut, Chunky Peanut Butter....
Now that we have your full attention.... let’s get serious. These mouthwatering morsels can help save lives. A family whose 2-year-old son was going through cancer treatments created Cookies For Kids' Cancer. They were told that typically there is not a high percentage rate of survival for pediatric cancer and most of the drugs used for treatments are 20 years old. Pediatric cancers are generally under-funded and most of the money for new treatments comes from non-profits. They knew at that moment, it was imperative to step in.
The mom had a crazy idea for a larger-than-life bake sale with the goal of baking 96,000 cookies with friends and volunteers. They baked up a storm, and 19 days later, they achieved their goal.
The cookies were not only really good, (we know we tried them all!) but the concept of fund raising via a giant bake sale caught on. It became apparent that Cookies for Kids' Cancer could be a powerful tool to help raise awareness and funds to fight all pediatric cancers and provide a way for people all over the country to get involved. Over the past two years, Cookies for Cancer and their generous partner, Glad Products, have given millions of dollars to the top children’s hospitals and cancer centers.
We can’t think of a better or more compelling reason to eat cookies!
