Let's face it, hospitals are pretty gloomy but now RxArt is putting vibrant, cheerful colors back into patients’ lives by installing original contemporary art masterpieces in the patient, procedure and examination rooms of healthcare facilities.

RxArt seeks to revitalize both the aesthetics and the emotional vibe of hospitals with art that will promote healing and inspire hope in patients, families and staff. Their mission is to help “mend the broken spirits of patients.”

One of their most notable installations to date is artist Jeff Koons’ CT Scanner for Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Illinois. Covered with smiling monkey faces, this CT Scanner is the first of its kind, and Koons’ intention was “to soothe and cheer  patients and brighten the potentially frightening testing environment.” The room also boasts Koons’ iconic Balloon Dog and Hanging Heart wallscapes.

Infuse color into dreary hospitals by donating to RxArt this month so they may  install fourteen photographs by James Welling into the waiting area at Emory University’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences. RxArt just needs to raise $2000 more dollars to finish this project.
