Light Up Your Life
It is not easy to find hope when you are battling your third bout with cancer, and have 3 little kids to look after. For Lee Rhodes, that glimmer of hope shone through a colored glass votive that she put a tea light in one night. The colored rays flickered and danced giving her much needed tranquility and comfort. She recognized that these votives had the potential to bring joy and light to others too, so she started Glassybaby.
The votives are hand-blown by Seattle artists in over 400 beautiful colors with names like hope, joy, smooch, wet dog, grandma jane's caramel and happiness.
During her time in hospitals and medical facilities, Lee was saddened to see the many people there who could not buy groceries or even bus fare because of the high cost of medical treatment, so she built giving back into her business ethos. Today, Glassybaby has given over $600,000 to charities dedicated to healing and helping patients.
People who are touched by Glassybaby share their stories of hope, humor, loss and love on the Glassybaby blog. Share this gift of beauty and life or even share your story.
