We are more than a week into 2011 and New Year’s resolutions may be fading fast… hopefully not all of them!

Here at milkshake we are committed to our resolution to keep the fire burning on issues and causes that are important, and continue to need the world’s help. George Clooney said it best when accepting his Bob Hope Humanitarian Award last year:

“It’s important to remember how much good can get done. But what happens is the people who need the spotlight the most – the Haitians, Sudanese, people in the Gulf Coast, the Pakistani, they can’t get any… When a disaster happens everyone wants to help, but 7 months later, 5 years later we are onto a new story. We all fail. We fail to keep the spotlight on and continue to help. Here’s hoping that we can keep the spotlight on these heartbreaking stories long after the press has gone away.”

Our goal at milkshake is to keep the spotlight on these issues every day of the year – by bringing you good finds that give back. Each day, milkshake will deliver great stories of causes, people, places, events, products and corporations who are not just doing their part to do “good”, but are incorporating it into the very fabric of their initiatives.

Let’s make 2011 the year of living life while giving back. Let’s give for the good of it!
