Luck be an Elephant
Throughout time, elephants all over the world have been worshipped; wearing their image was thought to bring good fortune and keep nightmares away. According to ancient tradition, the elephant catches and holds this good fortune in his raised trunk. Some think wearing an elephant charm can make you metaphysically as strong as one and perhaps even increase your memory!
From its inception, Vanessa Amalia jewelry has been dedicated to creating beautiful handmade charms with meaning. Vanessa decided to create a special elephant collection to help this majestic animal that brings luck to so many but have not had great luck themselves. The collection includes bracelets and necklaces ranging from $40 to $66.
The designer notes, “Anyone who has ever read Water for Elephants,” (or sees the movie which opens tomorrow) “knows how these beautiful creatures can be inhumanely treated. These gentle giants need our help!”
20% of the proceeds from the sale of the collection will benefit a very special organization in Africa, The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a haven for elephants who have otherwise been neglected, orphaned, or are in poor health.
Buy an elephant charm, because these elephants will never forget your kindness.
