Milkshake Attends the Golden Globes!
Milkshake’s very own Jennifer Goodkind Press went to the Golden Globes Sunday night. Here’s her recap of Hollywood’s favorite night out…
‘Happy Globes’ was the greeting on the entrance to all the Golden Globe parties in the Beverly Hilton hotel on Sunday--and what a fun and happy night it was!
I spent most of the evening at the InStyle, HBO and NBC/Universal parties—both to view the show and afterward, to try and catch up with some of Milkshake’s favorite celebs. As I suspected, asking celebrities which cause was nearest to their heart was the best icebreaker imaginable.
Mad Men star Jon Hamm told me he currently supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, lending his star power to the cause whenever he can.
Elle Macpherson, supermodel, actress, and hostess of the upcoming show, Fashion Star (debuting on NBC in March,) revealed she’s an European ambassador for RED and UNICEF.
And everyone’s favorite Girl Next Door, E! star Kendra Wilkinson, told me about the cause she holds closest to her heart: the Oasis Children's Advocacy Center in New Mexico which provides services for child abuse victims.
But I spent most of the evening hanging with my pal Steve Ross, the founder and director of the Artists & Athletes Alliance. He helps pave the way for high profile actors and athletes to take a stand on initiatives in Congress and across other political arenas. (Did I mention he knows EVERYONE?)
My night at the Golden Globes was amazing. And after chatting with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars about their favorite causes, it's a refreshing reminder that Hollywood is as generous as it is entertaining.
I can’t wait to go back next year!
