Music From The Heart
Sophie Bush and her "One Tree Hill" star Austin Nichols are always trying to save the world, and we benefit from their efforts.
The two popular actors had visited the Gulf after the spill and were disheartened that they were unable to help.
"There was sort of this overarching feeling of helplessness, like, how are any of us supposed to make a difference with this if we can't get our hands dirty, if we can't volunteer, you know?”, Bush stated.
Then Sophie’s friend singer/songwriter Amy Kuney came over to play a tune she wrote called "Gasoline Rainbows."
Bush and Austin had the brilliant idea to put an entire album together, one that could help raise funds and awareness for the gulf diaster. The result is "Gasoline Rainbows," named for Kuney's song, and released exclusively via digital download at iTunes.
The album includes Edward Sharpe and the Magnetics, Phoenix, and Vampire Weekend, as well as some brand new tunes from other major artists.
One thing for certain is this: We all love music and this is good music!
Global Green was founded to create a new approach to solving the world's most pressing environmental challenges.
100% of the proceeds from iTunes go toward Global Green, an organization that has been close to Bush's heart since she first got involved with them during their early Hurricane Katrina rebuilding efforts.
The money they raise actually goes into cleanup, rather than back into the company to pay peoples' salaries. Global Green guarantees that every dollar from these Gulf fundraising efforts go directly back into the community.
