Resolutions You Can Keep
Every new year people make resolutions to change aspects of themselves they believe are negative. A majority of people revert back to how they were before and feel like failures. This year I challenge you to a new resolution. I challenge you to just be yourself. Aisha Elderwyn
Resolutions are motivators and full of good intentions. But, when they breakdown –and of course they always do – they often make you feel worse than when you started. Who needs it?! We thought of 5 resolutions that we know everyone can do and will not only make you happier, but will make someone else happier as well.
1. Make kindness a daily habit
---Give without the expectation of getting something in return
---Smile at someone first and offer a genuine “hi”
---Take $50 and buy 10 Starbucks cards for $5 a pop. Hand them out to anyone who goes above and beyond the norm
---Write your mail carrier a note of thanks
2. Find a cause to support in 2012. There are thousands upon thousands of organizations supporting and bringing awareness to everything from Autism to AIDS to Animals – find something that moves you and get involved.
3. Read a book that you wouldn’t normally read. Find a book that will enlighten and educate you and most of all make you think.
---Steve Jobs by Walter Isaascon
---To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
---Social Innovation by Jason Saul
4. Call your mom!
5. Read Milkshake every day and send it to a friend – how could we resist this one?
