The Goddess Maker

Movers & Shakers
Tabby Biddle is a goddess maker. That's right, she knows the secrets and we are spilling them.
Empowerment, self assurance and strength - all essential if one is to achieve a goddess-like status and believe it or not, Tabby firmly believes all are achieveable through writing.
As a successful writer, editor and coach herself, she is now turning her own goddess talents towards being a mentor for young women. Through Global Girl Media, Tabby is teaching the power of words, showing these women from impoverished backgrounds how to tell their stories, and use their new journalistic skills to change themselves and the world. Tabby feels that as women become empowered, they will help other women around the world, and collectively this synergy will create the circumstances for global peace..
We caught up with Tabby in Santa Monica, where she draws inspiration from the beautiful scenery and writes her Goddess Diaries.
1. What is your favorite journey?
My favorite journey is the spiritual journey. Every day brings new adventures.
2. What is your idea of earthly happiness?
My idea of earthly happiness is a happy, loving marriage; a happy, well-fed kitty; a budding family; a beautiful, intimate connection with girlfriends; a growing circle of connection
and friendship with women from around the world; plenty of time in nature; plenty of time for spiritual practice; exercise, outdoor playtime and healthy living; time to read, relax,
and enjoy good meals; dancing, music-making and cuddling in the arms of my husband.
3. Who are your favorite heroes in literature?
This is a challenging question for me as I am more of a non-fiction reader. One who does come to mind immediately is the goddess Tara. She is the most famous Tibetan female deity
and appears in a lot of Tibetan Buddhist literature.
4. Who are your favorite heroes in real life?
My heroines are all pioneers: Gloria Steinem, Christiane Amanpour, Diane Sawyer, Maria Shriver, Eve Ensler Dr. Christiane Northrup, Billie Jean King, Queen Rania and Oprah.
Three heroes and men of great compassion are the Dalai Lama, my husband (Lee Schneider), and Nicholas Kristof.
5. How do you define “good”?
I define “good” as something that makes me feel happy and/or makes others feel happy. In other words, it’s something that improves people’s lives.
6. What is your favorite cause?
The empowerment of women and girls.
7. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I am achieving new things each day and don’t know that I really have a “greatest achievement.” I am proud to say that I backpacked for 9 months on my own through Southeast Asia,
summited numerous mountains, have run 4 marathons, launched a business with no business background, taught children yoga, found my soulmate, and become the woman I am
today … I think that my greatest achievement is really being true to myself all through my life and following the compass of my intuition. I value my intuition deeply.
8. Your favorite virtue?
Respect. I value respect of humans, animals and nature above all else.
9. What is your present state of mind?
Content.
10. What one good thing have you done most recently?
Adopted a two-month old rescued kitty.
11. What is your motto?
Live your truth.
