Let’s Get This Party Started!
Colette Chuda died at age five from cancer linked to pesticide exposure. Her parents, Jim and Nancy Chuda, decided to turn their grief into action, and in 1992 they launched the organization Healthy Child, Healthy World. Over the past decade, Healthy Child has grown steadily as more and more parents join in the cause—including inspiring ladies like Michelle Obama.... and the staff at Milkshake!
There is ample scientific evidence linking chemicals to asthma, autism, cancer, allergies, and diabetes (among other diseases). Reducing toxic exposures is critical to reduce the rate of these afflictions and that is the Healthy Child’s main goal.
Healthy Child has designated May 5-12, 2012 as Healthy Child Party Week. They are looking for 500 people across the country to host a Healthy Child Party.
The objective of each party is to spread the word about how to protect children’s health by creating healthy environments and employing healthy practices, like avoiding pesticides, knowing which products are non toxic and safe, purifying the air indoors, and eating healthy.
Want to get the party started? Healthy Child will help, by sending you a package that includes:
- A DVD explaining the 5 easy steps to take in your life to make it less toxic
- Samples of safe and wonderful products to give away to everyone at the party
- Ideas of how to make your own cleaning and care products
- Easy ways to advocate for our children
This is a fun and engaging way to have friends over with a purpose in mind. We are even throwing our own Milkshake, Healthy Child Party in Greenwich, CT on May 8, 2012!
We would love to find 20 "Shakers" to host a party and we can share ideas, pictures and results to our committed and growing community. Click here to find out more.
We work with a lot of causes around the world and Healthy Child is a force to be reckoned with. They are organized, committed and run by moms on a mission.
Join their force—we have!
Send us your name and email if you are willing to host a party. Our goal is to commit 20 Milkshake subscribers to host a party.
