Toast of the Town

At first glance this may seem a little trippy. Bread is not something that one thinks of using as a canvas. (Although Finn swears he made the face of Jesus on his grilled cheese in one episode of Glee, but that was clearly accidental.)
The Bread Art Project allows you to create art without a mess. For each virtual bread art that you create, $1 is donated to Share our Strength. You can also make your own flip book with a variety of magic brushes and patterns, or even upload a photo onto your creation.
WHY HELP?
The Bread Art Project was created by Grain Foods Foundation to raise awareness about the growing hunger problem in the US.
• There are 15.5 million children in America that live in poverty.
• Children who struggle with hunger are sick more often and recover more slowly
• Children who regularly do not get enough nutritious food to eat have a significantly higher number of behavioral, emotional and academic problems and are more aggressive and anxious.
WHY BREAD?
Bread can help curb hunger
• Whole grains are a good source of selenium, magnesium and potassium.
• The essential nutrients in bread can help fight heart disease, diabetes, some cancers and birth defects.
• Birth defects have been reduced by 26% since the FDA mandated the fortification of enriched grains in 1998.
Go ahead and toast yourself a masterpiece. It will be hung in the official Bread Art Project Gallery for everyone to ooh and aah over (don’t worry they can’t take a bite out of it)!
Your participation in the Bread Art Project will help the more than 17 million children in America who struggle with hunger. The Grain Foods Foundation will donate $1 to Share Our Strength®*, a national nonprofit committed to ending childhood hunger in America by connecting children with the nutritious food they need to lead healthy, active lives. The Grain Foods Foundation will donate $50,000 to Share Our Strength and will make an additional $1 donation for every piece of Bread Art created through June.
