Windows to the Soul
“My eyes are an ocean in which my dreams are reflected.” Anonymous
Elizabeth Jordan: humanitarian, artist, and photographer, captures the spirit of those she photographs in every shot. She creates a unique model of fundraising by combining her artistic talents with issues she cares deeply about. Elizabeth only took up photography several years ago when she started traveling around the world visiting the places her parents had charitable.
As you click through images from Russia, Rwanda, Ghana and Haiti, you live vicariously through her lens. Elizabeth has more than just captured images; she has captured the soul of each of her subjects and is interested in capturing the plight of people living in war-torn countries.
In Elizabeth’s own words, she “has created photography with a ‘pop’ art style, taking images of harsh or tough subjects and exposing their softer side, transforming them into images which are beautiful and dignified, rather than horrible and hopeless—without diminishing the critical state of the subject itself.”
The photos are printed in three sizes and on three surfaces. Prices start at $1,500 and are definitely worth the investment as they are truly fine art pieces.
All of the proceeds from the sale of the images go to The Urban Zen Foundation and Women for Women International.
Women for Women International provides women survivors of war, civil strife and other conflicts with the tools and resources to move from crisis and poverty to stability and self-sufficiency, thereby promoting viable civil societies. They help these women go from victim to survivor to active citizen by providing financial aid, job training, rights awareness and leadership education.
