You’ve Got the Power
Somaly Mam, was honored as one of Time Magazine's Most Influential People of 2009, but her road from Cambodia to newstands has been a long arduous journey.
Over 2 million women and children are sold into sexual slavery every year and Somaly found the strength and means to fight back and help others find their own strength in battling this multi-billion dollar industry. Mam created AFESIP Cambodia and subsequently co-founded The Somaly Mam Foundation, a non-profit organization raising awareness to end the global crisis of human trafficking and sex slavery. The organization leads initiatives and campaigns in North America and around the world.
