All Hands on Deck
If you’ve ever been to England, watched a long-ago movie where a couple frolics in the surf to tunes from Doris Day, or dreamed of cruising the sea on a 1920s oceanliner, you’ve seen the beauty that is a deckchair. The folding chair is simple and sweet in its design: a strip of gorgeous fabric that acts as middleman to pieces of beautiful wood.
Gallant & Jones has captured the essence of the deckchair of the past and placed it cleverly in the future. And with the creation of this fabulous chair, the world gets one more tree.
Tamra and Gwyneth (nee Gallant and Jones) yearned for the days of the deckchair, and began to create their own. The frames are handmade and handfinished, using wood from well-managed forests, waterproof glue, and stain that’s eco-friendly and weather-resistant. With interchangeable fabric slings and adjustable pillows, the chairs are as luxurious as any full-service cruiseship that sails the seven seas.
With every purchase, Gallant & Jones donates money to Canada’s own Love Trees, a children’s educational program that plans to plant more than 12 billion trees worldwide this year.
With eco-friendly chairs from Gallant & Jones... It means you’ll always end up playing with a full deck.
♥ LOVE GROWS: Love Trees manages a global children’s educational tree planting program and is also a member of the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Billion Tree Campaign. This year, the UN has launched the International Year of Forests and every Love Tree planted helps the UNEP reach a target goal of planting 12 billion trees worldwide.
