Organicfest
Keep Summer Going with Organicfest!
Though Labor Day weekend is the unofficial end of summer, the season keeps going until September 23. Why not prolong your summer fun with a weekend trip to Organicfest?
Held in Asheville, N.C., the Organicfest Celebration features live music, arts and crafts, and of course, organic and green vendors. Not sure how to live an organic life? There are workshops to help you find your inner green thumb.
You can even bring the kids along -- Imaginefest includes games, eco and garden crafts, and the “Bee a Bug” garden parade. What better way to spend quality time with the little ones than by teaching them (and perhaps, learning with them) about living green?
Whether or not you’re from the area, extend the organic festivities by staying in one of the many green hotels in the area. The Asheville Green Cottage is a green bed and breakfast housed in a 1920’s granite blockhouse. Amenities include organic cotton or bamboo fiber sheets and towels, non-toxic cleaning products and much more. Asheville Green Cottage is even a member of the Green Hotels Association. Extra bonus: While you’re living green, you’ll be surrounded by green, since the cottage has views of scenic Mount Pisgah and the wooded Biltmore Estate.
So if you’re looking for a detoxifying weekend away, consider checking out Organicfest 2011 and spending the last days of your summer living the green life.
It’s easier than you think.
