Simply Stunning, Simply Sustainable
Walk into Canvas and you may never walk out. Andrew Corrie, a British ex-banker, started Canvas as a collection of eco accessories and furnishings with the tag line “Simple, Sustainable Style”. His collection has been so successful, he recently opened a store in SoHo, New York with over 300 products all with a sustainable or ethical bent.
Impossible to feature all the beautiful wares we love here, so we selected one of our favorites: the Stour Dining Collection.
The collection of dinner ware was inspired by the Stour river's bends and gorgeous surroundings in Wiltshire, England. Every piece is hand made and emphasizes organic shapes.
The set comes in three colors: matte white, glossy grey and matte black, which are most striking when mixed and matched.
Canvas contains a collection of ceramics, wooden objects, textiles, accessories and furniture all created by artisans and craftsmen from the US and abroad with simple, sustainable style.
Andrew Corrie sits on the board of Aid to Artisans, a non profit that has been involved in art related projects in 110 countries. Canvas donates 10% of their profits to help artisans in the developing world. Canvas assists needy artisans to help create sustainable businesses, make a meaningful dent in poverty and boost confidence and self-respect.
