Cinco de Mayo Style For Kids
With Cinco de Mayo this weekend, and visions of margaritas and guacamole dancing in our heads, we couldn’t help but flip for these bilingual tees. Hola Baby designs tees and onesies that sport popular Spanish words and colorful designs.
Says creator Julie Aguirre Whitted, “I am raising bilingual children so having a t-shirt on my mija (my daughter) and my mijo (my son) gives me that extra reminder to speak Spanish throughout the day.”
Besides encouraging kids to take pride in their Latino roots, or learn a new language, what we like best about Hola Baby is that their suppliers are sweatshop free and they donate a portion of their proceeds to Latino non-profits. Charities supported include Circle de Luz, an organization that helps Latinas through the college application process and provides a scholarship upon graduation from high school, and International House, an organization that supports immigrants through ESL tutoring, cultural events, an international book club, and more.
To keep the celebration going all month long, Hola Baby is giving Milkshake Kids readers 20% off their purchase throughout the month of May. Just use this discount code: Milkshake.
