CoffeeKids: Brewing A Better World
When you sip your cup of Joe in the morning, you probably take a minute to contemplate the million things on your to-do list. But do you ever stop to think about the drink in your hand and its social impact? Well, the folks at CoffeeKids do.
More than 25 million families around the world depend entirely on coffee for their income. CoffeeKids helps those living Latin America improve their quality of life, while respecting their traditions and strong relationships with the land.
The not-for-profit and its local partners design programs to address the unique challenges of each coffee-growing community. And though the initiatives are diverse, the goal is always the same: to provide people with the tools and skills to help themselves. For example, one CoffeeKids success is a scholarship-loan program in Costa Rica that helps young people make their way through technical school. After they receive training, CoffeeKids helps them get back into the community and find a job to “repay” the loan through positive impact.
Now, doesn’t that sound like just the kind of project we can raise our mug to? Click here to see all the ways you can support CoffeeKids and make a positive difference in the lives of coffee-farming families throughout Latin America.
Coffee Kids is a non-profit development organization that works with coffee-farming families to improve their lives and livelihoods. CoffeeKids helps them identify the challenges they face and then partners with local organizations to develop projects that address those challenges on a grassroots level.
Do you brew your own coffee at home—and would you let your kids take a sip?
