Connect The Dots
Education across the globe, through the power of picture books. Does it get any better than that?
As every parent knows, creativity is like a weed. It pops up everywhere, but even the most wild and untamed talents can be stifled by lack of basic necessities. Despite being little fountains of creativity, children need help fostering their talents. And with a little help, they can turn this unbridled energy into a gorgeous garden.
And that's the ethos behind Dot-to-Dot Children's Books, a not-for-profit social enterprise that works with communities around the world to promote creativity and literacy among school age children. Targeting towns that suffer from developmental problems in nations from Cambodia to Tanzania, Dot-to-Dot helps kids learn to read, write, and create their own children's books.
Want to help with their latest project? Currently, Dot-to-Dot is seeking support for the Endangered Species, Empowered Communities set of children's books. Written by 225 young women and children from eight countries, the fascinating picture books aim to empower girls, protect endangered species, and promote global education and awareness. And did we mention they're pretty darn cute?
It may sound like a tall order, but with a little help, these words can go a long way.
