Exponential Good
As many of us know, it’s tough being a teenage girl. The pressures of middle school and the hurricane of hormones can throw even the toughest kid for a loop. But throughout the world, strong little girls are weathering this storm, succeeding against all odds, and growing into competent, amazing, and downright inspirational adults.
10 X 10 is a documentary film that brings several of these stories into sharp focus. Following ten different girls in ten developing countries throughout the world, the movie takes us on a narrative journey through childhood and into the murky space of adolescence. Through the words of ten great female writers, they highlight the challenges faced by girls around the globe, from health issues to human rights violations.
But it’s not just a touching story. 10 X 10 is part of a grassroots movement, designed to increase awareness about the importance of educating our young female population. And the movie is just one part of the picture; the 10X10 Act also works with multiple charities (including the UN’s Girl Up!) to promote literacy, education, and economic opportunities for young women.
