Freezin’ For A Reason
This weekend, join some very brave fundraisers as they dive into frigid water at the Wachusett Mountain Polar Dip. With temperatures approaching the single-digit range, you might be wondering why the heck anyone would want to put on a bathing suit and jump in a pool. Well, there's one very good answer: to support Camp Sunshine.
Camp Sunshine is a unique retreat located up in Maine on the shores of Sebago Lake. The camp is completely free of charge, and provides a place where children with life-threatening illnesses (and their immediate families) can relax, regroup, and experience some good old fashioned fun. The program is open year-round and is staffed almost entirely by volunteers.
Want to keep the good going at Camp Sunshine? This amazing program is always looking for funds, but really dedicated donors can slip into their favorite swimsuit and take the goose-pimply plunge. If you happen to live in the Massachusetts area, you can jump right in tomorrow at the Wachusett Polar Dip—registration starts at 1 p.m. and swimmers are still welcome to sign up.
And if you can't make it to the Wachusett Polar Dip, there are plenty more happening in the next few months at various locations throughout New York, New England, and Virginia. The goal for this winter is to raise $400,000, mainly through the Freezin' for a Reason fundraisers. Click here for a full list of Polar Dips and dates.
Prove you're cooler than cool and support a great cause. All it takes is one little dip.
