Rebels With a Cause
Though we know you dread the years of teenage rebellion, there is something to be said for a little civil disobedience. While we don’t want to encourage a mutiny, we can’t help but love these clothes for kids that encourage an attitude of independence.
For Tiny Hineys
Founded by two moms with a passion for fashion, The Tiny Hiney makes onesies, diaper covers, shirts and dresses using super-soft cotton. Warn others if your rabble-rouser is in a devious mood with a studded crossbones shirt, or if they're feeling more demure, a set of angel wings emblazoned on the back. Personally, we’ve fallen for Tiny Hiney’s “Love” collection where 10% of sales are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Fierce Fits
Kiki Fluhr, owner of The Measure, designs dresses, pinafores, and skirts with fierce little girls in mind – those that climb trees and reach for the clouds. Her designs suit playing in the yard as well as visiting grandparents and are made from up-cycled materials like men’s dress shirts and vintage cotton doilies. We especially like that most of The Measure’s dresses are meant to grow with your child, becoming a tunic and later a top as they grow taller. Although Kiki’s designs are special as is, you can make one meaningful by sending her a treasured piece of dad, granddad or brother’s clothing and she’ll make it into a wearable heirloom for your child.
