Sweet Summer Project for Surfers
When friends Quinn Rotchford, Anthony Lewis and Ryan Cruse traveled to South America to surf some gnarly waves they caught a new idea for helping beach communities around the world. These surfing buddies couldn't stand that the people who called those beautiful shores home couldn’t afford to ride their own swells, so they founded Warm Current.
We admire Warm Current’s mission to make it possible for everyone to hang ten, especially if the beach is their backyard. They encourage surfers, kayakers and windsurfers to donate old wetsuits and boards they might have otherwise discarded so that disadvantaged, seaside communities in Oregon, California and Washington as well as Peru, Mexico and Morocco can benefit.
If surfing is you or your teen’s passion, volunteers are always needed at Warm Current’s surf camps for disadvantaged kids. If this is a bit of a stretch, you can always help out by collecting wetsuits and boards in your community.
This is one summer project your kids will still be talking about come fall. Surfs up!
How are your kids getting involved with their community this summer?
