By now, most of us have heard about -- and perhaps own a pair or two of -- TOMS.  An abbreviation of the phrase "shoes for tomorrow," the company donates a pair of its slip-on shoes to a child in need for every pair sold.  

The buy-one/give-one business model is carried out through a partnership with a 501(c)3 organization called, appropriately enough, "Friends of TOMS."  The goal: to help prevent occurrences of soil-borne diseases and wound infection in children the world over. For many of the children TOMS serves around the globe, it's the first pair of shoes they've ever worn. In addition, the brand's partners provide health and education programs in the communities they serve.

A lesser-known fact is that for those of us able to buy our own, TOMS can outfit an entire family in its comfy, globally conscious footwear.  In addition to the usual collection, youth sizes are available in sizes Y1 through Y13.5, and -- here's the cute part -- the brand has launched a "tiny" division for the wee ones too.  

The details: TOMS offers sizes T2 through T11.5 in two dozen colors and patterns of its classic alpargatas, modeled after the popular Argentinian style with which the brand launched itself, plus its lace-up cordones and botas.  It even offers its sparkly "glitters" to the littlest among us.

Just as the brand does with its regular-sized options, it calculates its pint-sized sales into its one-for-one equation, tallying them into its frequent shoe drops and year-round community programs, which have together distributed more than one million pairs in 25 countries since the company was founded in 2006.
